FNF Construction, Inc. is hiring a Master Mechanice in Tempe, AZ!
The Master Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy construction equipment, fleet vehicles, and related machinery. This position serves as a technical leader within the maintenance team, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe and efficient construction operations. Travel may be required. This is a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system failures.
- Perform preventive maintenance and schedule inspections on heavy equipment and fleet vehicles.
- Repair and rebuild diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, and other major components.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and electronic controls.
- Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and safety concerns.
- Conduct field service repairs at active construction sites as needed.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and computerized troubleshooting tools.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and repair documentation.
- Coordinate parts procurement and inventory requirements.
- Assist in prioritizing repairs to maximize equipment availability.
- Mentor and train mechanics, apprentices, and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA, DOT, and MSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Extensive experience repairing heavy construction equipment and diesel-powered machinery.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrain components.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
- Experience using electronic diagnostic tools and software.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead maintenance activities.
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
- DOT Medical Card
- Ability to travel to project sites and work overtime when required.
- Preferred Qualifications
- ASE, CAT, or similar certifications.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Previous supervisory or lead mechanic experience.
- Experience supporting heavy highway, civil, asphalt, aggregate, or earthwork operations.
