Program Assistant for Student Work Programs

LC State invites applications for the position of Program Assistant for Student Work Programs.

Salary and rank are based on experience and qualifications: $49,754 - $53,000

Degree Required: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with career development, career education, or staff supervision
• Experience working with databases.
• Excellent organization, time management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's preferred from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Work experience in higher education.
• Experience using situational awareness to provide excellent and adaptable customer service in a variety of situations.
• Flexibility to work in an open office environment and actively collaborate with other staff members.

Responsibilities:

1. Managing the Work Scholar program,
2. Managing the Federal, State, and JOB Work-Study programs,
3. Developing and presenting training materials for aid-based student work programs,
4. Working with internal and external employer partners and supervisors to support student workers,
5. Assisting students and families with general guidance on financial aid and scholarship processes, including completing the FAFSA, scholarship, and other financial forms or documents,
6. Making presentations about financial aid, scholarships, and aid-based work programs to prospective students, current students, and high school counselors,
7. Creating or enhancing correspondence to students.
8. Collaborating on marketing materials that promote the services in Student Financial Services
9. Partnering with other office staff on projects and assignments,
10. Serving on campus committees as needed, and
11. Other duties as assigned.
12. Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
