Job Description:
Dobbs Defense Solutions is looking for a Giant Voice Associate Field Engineer to support Emergency Management and Giant Voice systems at Department of Defense installations. The Field Engineer will assist with the installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Giant Voice (GV), Audio-Visual Notification Systems (AVNS), and related communication systems. This position is based from D2S's Landover, Maryland home office and requires frequent travel to military and Government customer locations.

Duties:

• Install, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Giant Voice (GV), Audio-Visual Notification Systems (AVNS), and related equipment.

• Support Whelen, Sircom, and other mass notification systems, as well as Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems such as Motorola, Kenwood, and Harris.

• Diagnose system issues and coordinate repairs with D2S technical teams, partners, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

• Document maintenance activities, repairs, system deficiencies, configurations, and testing results.

• Safely operate or work from boom lifts, scissor lifts, bucket trucks, forklifts, ladders, and related equipment at elevated heights.

• Coordinate with D2S teams and Government customers while complying with applicable safety, installation, site access, and customer requirements.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent with 1–2 years of related technical experience.

• Experience with or willingness to learn Giant Voice, LMR, AVNS, electrical, electronics, telecommunications, RF, networking, or related systems.

• Ability to use or learn technical test equipment and read technical manuals, diagrams, and installation instructions.

• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds, climb ladders, safely work at elevated heights up to 80 feet, and perform field work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.

• Valid driver's license, ability to travel up to 75%, obtain required military installation access, and obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Working Environment:

• Remote / Field-Based – Based from the D2S Landover, Maryland home office with travel of up to 75% to military and Government customer locations.

Salary Range:
Pay range information will be disclosed consistent with applicable state and local pay transparency laws once available. For this position, the anticipated salary range is $60,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
