Compensation
Physical Requirements:
- Perform basic mathematical calculations and maintain written reports and records.
- Periodic, non-repetitive manual lifting of weights exceeding 50 pounds.
- Awkward working positions requiring turning, twisting, and/or bending while lifting.
- Moderate physical agility, endurance, manual dexterity, and reflexes.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Responsiveness to periodic emergency situations requiring speed and accuracy.
Duties:
Safety and Housekeeping:
- Follow Job Safety Analyses, use safe work practices, and report hazardous conditions.
- Wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
- Keep equipment and area clean and orderly per assigned housekeeping schedule.
- Paint equipment as directed.
Monitoring and Operation:
- Monitor deck lights of the 5th zone and cooling section; notify dryer operator of jams or backed-up mats.
- Position tipple for removal of dried mat when automatic sequence is not in use.
- Remove rejected material before it goes through the slitting saw.
- Remove good material before saw change.
- Reposition mats and actuate controls to start through the slitter.
- Monitor operation of trim saw stop gate and operate it manually when required.
- Reset hold-down rollers and saw arbor for thickness changes.
- Remove defective slit material from cross-cut feed belt.
Quality Control:
- Check quality of feed board by visual inspection.
- Monitor thickness, weight, squareness, and dimensions; make adjustments to maintain product specifications.
- Monitor board temperature out of the dryer and record hourly.
- Check size dimensions of cut products after setup changes.
- Pull hot board and burnt corners; direct storage to specified area.
Reporting and Maintenance:
- Assist in clean-out of jammed sheets in dryer and cooling section.
- Report number of mats processed and classification of rejected pieces.
- Report all equipment malfunctions to the Supervisor immediately.
- Occasionally train inexperienced employees on the job.
- Perform other related duties as directed, including duties of other classifications.
