Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Northamptonshire to assist with the appointment of a Taxi Licensing Service Support Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £14.56 - £18.46 per hour
Summary:
A Taxi Licensing Service Support Officer is required to support the efficient administration of licensing processes for hackney carriages, private hire vehicles, drivers and operators. The role involves processing licence applications, providing advice to customers and the taxi trade, maintaining accurate records and ensuring all licensing activity complies with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Process applications for hackney carriage and private hire vehicle, driver and operator licences.
- Check applications and supporting information against relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Provide advice and guidance to drivers, operators, members of the public and other stakeholders on taxi licensing processes.
- Liaise with internal teams, officers, external agencies and relevant representatives regarding licensing matters.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on case management and licensing databases.
Qualifications:
- Educated to 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
Essentials:
- Working knowledge and experience of Taxi Licensing Administration and relevant licensing legislation.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to deal professionally with drivers, operators, members of the public, Council officers and external agencies.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing demands, tight deadlines and an individual caseload.
- Computer literate, with experience using case management systems and Microsoft Office/Office 365.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong written English and the ability to produce clear, concise correspondence.
