## About The Role

As a Staff Software Developer (Full Stack & AI Solutions) at John Deere in Indaiatuba/SP, you will join a high-performing IT Engineering team that collaborates closely with Global IT Product Management organizations to deliver innovative digital solutions. This team plays a key role in product discovery, transforming business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions, while developing tools, automations, integrations, and AI-enabled capabilities that accelerate value delivery and enhance product outcomes.

In this role, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs, analyze challenges, evaluate technical alternatives, and design secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions. You will leverage modern full-stack development practices and practical AI technologies to streamline processes, improve decision-making, reduce manual effort, and continuously enhance the Product Management experience across the organization.

## Main Responsabilities

• Lead technical discovery sessions with Product Managers and stakeholders to clarify problems, workflows, dependencies, constraints, and success measures.
• Design, develop, test, and integrate end-to-end applications, tools, automations, and AI-augmented solutions of medium complexity.
• Convert ambiguous needs into technical options, architecture proposals, delivery increments, and clear trade-offs.
• Provide technical direction to engineers and help resolve design, integration, quality, security, and production issues.
• Coach less experienced engineers through pairing, design reviews, code reviews, and practical feedback.
• Promote reusable patterns, shared components, engineering standards, automated testing, observability, and relevant documentation.
• Collaborate across teams to align solutions with enterprise platforms, security expectations, and product outcomes.
• Evaluate solution effectiveness after release and recommend improvements based on feedback, telemetry, and changing needs

## What Skills You Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in another discipline combined with equivalent software engineering experience, typically 5+ years.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong hands-on development skills in Python or a similar back-end programming language, as well as experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React.
• 3+ years of experience developing cloud-based solutions, with a solid understanding of scalable application architecture and design principles.
• Proven experience designing and developing APIs, system integrations, service-oriented architectures, data models, and secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Experience applying software engineering best practices, including automated testing, Test-Driven Development (TDD), DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, application monitoring, and production support.
• Hands-on experience integrating Generative AI and/or Machine Learning capabilities into software applications, products, workflows, or automation solutions.
• Ability to evaluate AI use cases, define success criteria and evaluation approaches, identify data privacy and security considerations, and implement appropriate human oversight mechanisms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and produce clear technical documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently across the full software development lifecycle, including discovery, solution design, implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement.

## What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, agentic workflows, prompt orchestration, or AI evaluation frameworks.
• Experience facilitating technical discovery with Product Management or consulting across multiple product teams.
• Experience modernizing applications, integrating enterprise platforms, or creating reusable enablement capabilities.
• Experience with software test automation, performance tuning, and production reliability.
