The Associate Engineer, Manufacturing Operations is responsible for performing IP-related assembly or test troubleshooting, identifying daily technical issues and providing technical feedback and support to manufacturing engineers on issue resolution. The Associate Engineer will need to learn new models of mass spectrometer, work on improvement projects and support advanced manufacturing implementation.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Manufacturing & Partnerships and is part of the Manufacturing Operations team. This will be an on-site role that will be based in Singapore, but will also require the incumbent to be travel to and be stationed in China for recurring 6-month rotational assignments.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Learn technical knowledge of a broad range of mass spectrometer products and coach test specialists on the commissioning, calibration, testing, optimization and troubleshooting of mass spectrometer range of products according to work instructions and procedures.
Ensure compliance of operations within area of concern with all relevant EHS regulatory requirements, Quality Management System and safety policies, procedures and guidelines.
Troubleshoot IP-related assembly & testing at controlled IP room.
Work on final test improvement projects (e.g. cycle time improvement; redesign Final Instrument Test labor scheduling & escalation; pump down time reduction, etc.) whilst based in Singapore and implement in China where applicable.
Support advanced manufacturing implementation at both sites e.g. digitalization (MES), automation, etc.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Degree in Engineering/ Science (preferably Physics).
Experience with electro-mechanical hardware, problem-solving skill with various test equipment, meters, small hand tools to assemble, construction or repair is a must.
Proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written), as the role involves regular on-site communication and collaboration with manufacturing associates in China during work assignments.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
Willingness and ability to travel to and be based in China for recurring 6-month rotational assignments.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Working in mass spectrometry or LCMS industry
Chemistry background will be added advantage.
Laboratory experience operating analytical chemistry equipment (organic or inorganic)
