Accounts Payable Team Leader

Our Swindon facility houses our Zydis® fast dissolving tablet development and manufacturing operation as well as a CMC pharmaceutical analytical lab services unit that offers ASAP stability.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our team. In this role, you will supervise the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable team within the Financial Shared Services Centre. You will oversee site processing activities, ensure accurate and compliant vendor invoice and payment processing, and act as the primary escalation point for complex queries. This position also involves coaching and mentoring team members, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 09.00 - 17.00

The Role

• Supervise daily operations of the Accounts Payable team within the Financial Shared Services Centre, ensuring achievement of Accounts Payable KPIs across ERP systems.
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex invoice processing queries and issues.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with global site stakeholders, leading regular meetings to resolve Accounts Payable matters.
• Ensure vendor invoices and payments are processed accurately, compliantly, and within agreed timelines as a senior member of the Global Shared Services team.
• Coach, mentor, and support Accounts Payable Analysts, promoting professional development and adherence to company policies.
• Oversee payment controls to ensure supplier payments are accurate, authorised, and compliant with internal policies and regulations.
• Monitor team performance, identify process improvement opportunities, and support initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Undertake additional duties and projects as required by the Global Accounts Payable Leadership Team.

The Candidate

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications), including Mathematics and English.
• Previous experience in Accounts Payable processing and supplier payment administration.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to coach, train, and develop team members.
• Solution-focused approach with experience in identifying, implementing, and managing process improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of ERP systems such as JD Edwards, QuickBooks, Oracle, Sage, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) would be advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to utilise Accounts Payable systems effectively.
