Quality Control Manager

PAY RANGE: $85,000-$110,000 based upon applicable experience within the industry. 

THE COMPANY: Intrinsic Development is a full service real estate development company that specializes in upscale multi-family and commercial mixed-use developments. Our organization has built more than 3.5 million square feet of projects, with an additional 300,000 square feet currently under construction. The Intrinsic Development team has successfully developed everything from hospitality venues, to mixed-use, multi-family, hotels, clinics, offices and restaurants across 6 Midwestern states. We are excited to expand into Lee's Summit, Missouri which will be the new home for our corporate office. This expansion coincides with the launch of our new 260+ acre mixed-use development, which will feature approximately 2,900 luxury multi-family units, as well as over 660,000 square feet of retail, office, entertainment, hospitality space, and other related commercial uses.

CONSTRUCTION QC MANAGER DETAILS: Intrinsic Development is seeking a Quality Control Manager to help ensure our construction projects are delivered to the high standards we expect for our communities. This is a hands-on, field-focused position responsible for establishing and maintaining quality control processes throughout construction. The Quality Control Manager will regularly visit active job sites, inspect workmanship and materials, identify deficiencies, and work directly with project teams, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and consultants to ensure issues are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner. This role is particularly important in maintaining consistency and quality across our multifamily and mixed-use developments. The ideal candidate has a strong construction background, understands how projects are actually built in the field, and has the confidence to identify problems, communicate expectations clearly, and hold project partners accountable for correcting deficiencies.

CONSTRUCTION QC MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct regular inspections of active construction projects to evaluate workmanship, materials, installation, and overall quality.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and inspection standards across projects.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and applicable building codes to identify quality requirements and potential issues.
• Identify construction deficiencies, document findings, and coordinate corrective actions with project teams and subcontractors.
• Monitor the quality and installation of materials to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and project standards.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Site Supervisors, General Contractors, subcontractors, architects, and consultants to resolve quality concerns.
• Follow up on identified deficiencies to ensure corrective work is completed properly and within expected timelines.
• Assist project teams in identifying potential quality issues before they become costly rework or schedule problems.
• Maintain organized documentation of inspections, deficiencies, corrective actions, and project quality records.
• Review project progress and construction details with a critical eye, identifying areas where workmanship or execution does not meet expectations.
• Help establish consistent quality expectations and best practices across multiple projects and project teams.
• Provide feedback and guidance to construction partners regarding quality standards and expectations.
• Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, inspections, and resolution of outstanding deficiencies.
• Assist with developing and improving quality control processes as Intrinsic's construction portfolio continues to grow.
• Travel regularly to active job sites as needed.

CONSTRUCTION QC MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in construction, quality control, construction management, field supervision, or a related role.
• Experience with multifamily, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, or other large-scale construction projects strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will be considered.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, materials, and sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work.
• Working knowledge of applicable building codes, construction standards, and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to identify construction deficiencies and effectively communicate required corrective action.
• Strong documentation, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, subcontractors, project managers, superintendents, and internal leadership.
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard for workmanship and finished product.
• Ability to prioritize competing issues, solve problems independently, and make sound decisions in the field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with project teams.
• Willingness and ability to regularly work on active construction sites, including walking job sites, climbing stairs, and performing physical inspections.
