ABB is hiring in Hackettstown, NJ!

As a Quality Engineer, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. Additionally, lead the execution of supplier assessments, driving both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. This position also manages the supplier's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Your role and responsibilities:

 

• Assess and evaluate manufacturing and customer issues and problems that are submitted in the Positive Action Resolution and Response System (PARRS). Direct accountability for addressing customer issues within your assigned area of accountability across all product lines manufactured in the Hackettstown Plant. Provide direction and action plans for key improvements in quality metrics including FPY (​First Pass Yield), CCRP cycle time, DPPM (Defective Parts Per Million).
• Identify and recommend equipment and methods used in measuring product or process quality, while maintaining and improving safety and housekeeping practices
• Support quality planning activities and customer audits on process, products, and the quality system. Conduct audits of Quality System and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Standards. Review non-conforming products within the Material Review Board process. Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences Report.
• Drives approval process for supplier parts, materials, and project subcontractor services, as applicable, involving collaboration with other functions/experts, encompassing activities like Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites. Partners with suppliers to implement agreed improvement activities from product and process perspective, including workshops at supplier's facilities as appropriate.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum 3+ years of experience working in Quality, Opex, SCM (Supply Chain Management) or Manufacturing roles
• Quality certifications are a plus.
• ISO 9001 experience or prior oversight for QMS (Quality Management System) preferred Six Sigma Certification
• Up to 10 percent of travel is required.
• Ability to coordinate several projects
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $83,300 and $133,280 annually.
