Lead AI Engineer

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Ai Engineer in Technology as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT).). The primary focus of this group will be to lead the modernization efforts across the entire CCIBT portfolio of applications and systems to the cloud, leveraging the latest technologies and best practices including generative AI SDLC and software engineering practices. Being part of this team, you will advise, design, build and maintain cloud solutions with the right design decisions on availability, scalability, performance and cost. You will work closely with the key stakeholders in infrastructure, development, operations, and security teams to ensure our solutions are successfully deployed to our internal customers.

 

 

In this role, you will:

• Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
• Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
• Design, build, test, deploy and document business solutions leveraging the latest tools in software engineering automation
• Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions to meet their strategic technical and business objects
• Provide influence, thought leadership and mentorship on the best practices and standards of your team
• Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
• Partner and support working relationships with other teams within the Wells Fargo organization including senior leadership
• Invest in the growth of your colleagues

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent, demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 5+ years of leveraging modern software engineering stacks including modern Java, Python and others
• 3+ years of experience with developing and deploying applications and infrastructure in the cloud including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud
• 1+ years of Past experience with AI SDLC and software engineering automation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Devin, Cursor or Claude Code
• 3+ years of experience with architectural, system and code-level design patterns relevant to cloud solutions

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working with cloud security management or governance tools
• Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to drive strategic outcomes Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences
• A strategic view on project outcomes and opportunities to add value to the greater Wells Fargo organization
• Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities. $159,000.00 - $305,000.00
