The Director of Practice Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for assigned physician practices within Mount Auburn Professional Services (MAPS). Reporting to the Executive Director of MAPS, this position is responsible for ensuring efficient practice operations, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and continuous performance improvement. The Director serves as a key liaison between physicians, advanced practice providers, practice leadership, and administrative departments while leading initiatives that support organizational growth, patient experience, quality outcomes, and operational excellence.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

· Direct operational oversight for assigned physician practices, ensuring achievement of organizational objectives, and strategic goals.

· Develop, administer, and monitor annual operating and capital budgets; implement initiatives to achieve financial and operational performance targets.

· Recruit, mentor, develop, and evaluate Practice Managers and other administrative leaders to promote engagement and high performance.

· Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies, procedures, and operational standards to ensure compliance with organizational expectations and regulatory requirements.

· Partner with Physician Billing Services and clinical leadership to optimize revenue cycle performance, improve charge capture, and maximize reimbursement opportunities.

· Serve as the primary operational liaison among physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, practice staff, and executive leadership to address concerns and support organizational initiatives.

· Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and operational efficiency initiatives designed to enhance patient care and service delivery.

· Collaborate with Human Resources on workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and talent development activities.

· Coordinate support services and resources across departments including Human Resources, Information Services, Facilities, Purchasing, Security, and other operational partners.

· Partner with marketing and community relations teams to support practice growth initiatives, physician recruitment efforts, and new program development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field required.

· Equivalent combination of education and 5-7 years of progressively responsible healthcare management experience may be considered.

· Experience in physician practice management strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Knowledge of physician practice operations, healthcare finance, budgeting, and revenue cycle management.

· Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, including HIPAA, Medicare, and federal and state healthcare regulations.

· Strong leadership, employee development, and change management skills.

· Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to establish effective working relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, administrators, staff, patients, and community partners.

· Proficiency with healthcare information systems and Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheet and word-processing software

Pay Range:

$160,000.00 USD - $185,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
