BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) brings together investment banking, market making, export and project finance, and advisory services for corporate clients and institutional investors. 

Within CIB, the Advisory unit delivers tailored corporate finance solutions to leading multinational corporations, financial sponsors, and mid-cap clients. The team specializes in originating and executing complex buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and strategic capital advisory. Operating in a client-centric global framework, BBVA Advisory combines deep industry expertise, advanced valuation capabilities, and cross-border execution strength to help clients achieve their long-term strategic objectives. 

About the job:

Key Responsibilities & Functions

• Financial Modeling & Valuation: Build, update, and review financial models and valuation analyses (DCF, DDM, LBO, merger models, trading & transaction comparables), including sensitivity and scenario analyses, to evaluate deal opportunities, structures and financial impacts. 
• Transaction Execution: Manage the day-to-day execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, including deliverables, virtual data rooms (VDRs), Q&A processes, and due diligence workstreams. Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and external advisors across tax, accounting, legal, technical and other specialist areas. 
• Pitching & Transaction Documentation: Drive the preparation of information memorandums, management presentations, teasers, strategic pitch books, transaction analyses and internal approval materials. 
• Industry Research & Origination: Conduct sector research, competitor benchmarking, market screening and company analysis to identify and assess potential M&A targets. 
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, train, and review the output of Analysts to ensure high standards of quality and accuracy. 

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, or Valuations & Business Modelling within an investment bank, M&A boutique or leading professional services firm. Candidates should demonstrate strong experience in financial analysis, valuation, and financial modeling.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or another quantitative field. Master’s in Finance or CFA level/charter is a plus. 

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Strong financial modeling, accounting, corporate finance, and valuation skills, with solid knowledge of methodologies including DCF, trading comparables, and transaction comparables.
• Ability to analyze financial statements, business plans, and key value drivers and translate them into robust financial and valuation analyses.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with financial and market intelligence platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv, Capital IQ, or Mergermarket is preferred.

Analytical & Execution Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to assess complex financial and strategic information and draw clear conclusions.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality of output.

Communication & Teamwork

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial and strategic analyses clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, multidisciplinary teams, external advisers, and counterparties.
• Demonstrated ability to guide and review the work of junior team members.

Languages: Professional fluency in both English and Spanish, written and spoken, is required.

In order to perform the functions of the position, it is essential to have valid Mifid certification. In case you do not have it, it must be obtained at the beginning of the incorporation.
