 SUMMARY

Westlake Royal Building Products Roofing & Stone Division is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, and dynamic Accountant II. This position is responsible for the accounting activities of an assigned Roofing & Stone manufacturing plant, including recording, analyzing, reporting, and evaluating financial and operational information. The role provides timely and accurate financial information and analysis to management to support operational and business objectives.

ACCOUNTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform accounting and financial activities related to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Perform Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, including customer invoicing, vendor invoice processing.
• Prepare supporting schedules and analyses for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual operating budgets.
• Coordinate accounting activities across manufacturing plants, locations, and departments.
• Maintain and support compliance with internal controls within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Partner with Operations to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Prepare financial analyses and management reports to support business decision-making.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Prepare and maintain detailed process documentation and desk procedures.
• Perform other duties and ad hoc analyses as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Approximately 3+ years of cost or industrial accounting experience preferred.
• SAP and ERP experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee occasionally lifts and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.  Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
