Lead DevSecOps Engineer

The DevSecOps Lead provides technical leadership and day-to-day delivery oversight for platform engineering, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), infrastructure provisioning, release execution, and core platform operations. This role owns the implementation of approved cloud architecture and security patterns, coordinates platform activities across engineers and administrators, and ensures infrastructure changes are repeatable, auditable, testable, and supportable. The DevSecOps Lead partners closely with the Cloud Data Architect, Security/RMF/ATO Lead, and Agile Delivery Manager to ensure platform delivery excellence, operational readiness, incident management, and successful release execution.

What You Will Do:

• Lead platform engineering, DevSecOps, SRE, infrastructure provisioning, and platform operations activities.

• Oversee implementation and maintenance of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platform environments.

• Direct CI/CD pipeline design, automation initiatives, release management activities, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) implementations.

• Ensure platform changes adhere to approved architecture, security, compliance, and operational standards.

• Coordinate engineering and operations teams to deliver repeatable, auditable, and testable infrastructure solutions.

• Monitor platform health, reliability, availability, performance, and operational metrics using SRE best practices.

• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and continuous service improvement efforts.

• Collaborate with security, architecture, and delivery leadership to achieve release readiness and deployment objectives.

• Establish and maintain automated deployment, configuration management, and environment provisioning processes.

• Support modernization initiatives involving cloud-native platforms, OpenShift environments, containerized applications, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies.

• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to DevSecOps engineers, platform engineers, and administrators.

• Prepare technical status reports, operational metrics, and briefings for client and internal stakeholders.

What You Will Bring With You:

• U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.

• Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., all work must be performed in the U.S. and must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field; or a high school diploma with four (4) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• Minimum eight (8) years of experience supporting cloud platform operations, DevSecOps, platform engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related technical disciplines. Master's degree may substitute for two (2) years of relevant experience.

• Demonstrated experience leading DevSecOps, platform engineering, cloud operations, or infrastructure engineering teams supporting enterprise-scale cloud platforms.

• Deep experience leading the implementation and operation of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions utilizing Terraform, including reusable modules, infrastructure standards, policy enforcement, environment provisioning, and automated platform deployment patterns.

What We Would Like You To Bring With You:  

• Extensive experience designing, deploying, securing, and operating Databricks environments, including workspace administration, Unity Catalog implementation, access management, platform policies, cluster governance, and automated provisioning.

• Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Git, and enterprise release automation frameworks.

• Experience implementing and governing cloud platform operations across Azure Government, Azure Commercial, AWS GovCloud, and hybrid-cloud architectures.

• Experience leading Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices including observability, monitoring, incident response, operational readiness, service-level objectives (SLOs), service-level indicators (SLIs), reliability engineering, and production support models.

• Experience overseeing release execution, deployment governance, rollback readiness, operational acceptance, and release evidence collection within regulated environments.

• Experience implementing platform security controls, secrets management, certificate management, vulnerability management, policy-as-code, and automated compliance validation.

• Experience supporting large-scale data, analytics, AI/ML, and cloud modernization initiatives leveraging Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Machine Learning, Power BI, and related technologies.

• Experience with identity and access management solutions including Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, service principals, managed identities, federation, and privileged access controls.

• Experience leading platform operational processes including environment management, change control, incident management, problem management, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and service continuity.

• Experience collaborating with Cloud Data Architects, Security Leads, RMF/ATO personnel, Agile Delivery Managers, SRE teams, QA teams, and Government stakeholders to ensure secure, auditable, and supportable platform operations.

• Strong understanding of Zero Trust Architecture, RMF, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, FIPS, cybersecurity governance, and Federal compliance requirements.

• Experience establishing engineering standards, mentoring technical teams, driving technical decision-making, and implementing operational best practices across large engineering organizations.

• Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical production environments requiring scalability, resiliency, and operational excellence.

• Experience supporting Federal government, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments.

• Experience working within Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and enterprise-scale delivery organizations.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$119,323.00 - $202,850.00
