Description
•General knowledge of radio and teletype procedures
•General knowledge of the geography of the county and location of important buildings
•Ability to make major decisions in handling emergency situations
•Ability to type at a reasonable rate of speed
•Ability to speak distinctly
•Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility
•Ability to deal courteously with the public under stressful conditions
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public
•Associate Degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one (1) year of experience OR
•Bachelor’s Degree from an appropriately accredited institution and six (6) months of experience
•Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD), Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD), CPR, Division of Criminal Information (DCI), National Incident Management Systems (NIMS), (100, 200, 700 & 800) and two (2) additional job-related certifications
