Title: Process Engineer
Worksite Location: 569 HWY 28 Bypass., Abbeville, SC 29620
Duties: Responsible for driving process excellence, operational reliability, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This includes hands on technical leadership, structured problem solving, and cross functional collaboration to enhance performance, safety, and product quality. Maintain a strong and consistent presence on the shop floor to assess issues, lead hands on troubleshooting, and drive root cause analysis of equipment and process failures. Initiate and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure stable, reliable operations. Improve yield, efficiency, throughput, and overall process capability in alignment with strategic business objectives. Specify, procure, and commission new manufacturing equipment and instrumentation, including capital cost justification and related documentation. Maintain and update performance specifications, and process documentation for all current
products. Analyze monthly Raw Material Balances to identify key areas of focus and improvement. Lead and manage process improvement projects that directly impact operational
performance and the bottom line. Identify, prioritize, and evaluate improvement opportunities using structured risk/reward analysis. Serve as an advocate for Lean Sigma methodologies, acting as a Lean Facilitator when required to implement and sustain lean initiatives. Ensure results are achieved and that process controls and improvements are sustained over time. Lead and influence cross functional teams at all organizational levels to drive change and operational excellence. Support the transfer, implementation, and startup of new processes, methods, and technologies. Collaborate with Health & Safety and Quality Assurance teams to ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, and compliant with ISO 9000/14000 standards.
Develop, document, implement, and sustain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support consistent, safe, and reliable operations. Demonstrate strong safety leadership and
contribute to advancing a Zero & Beyond safety culture. Share technical expertise by training and guiding operators and colleagues in the use of best practices, process standards, and continuous improvement tools. Promote a culture of learning, operational discipline, and technical excellence across the organization.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field. Will also accept any combination of education, training, and/or work experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field. 3 years of experience in manufacturing factory working on production processes, including hands on troubleshooting on the shop floor, understanding equipment behavior, optimizing process parameters, supporting equipment upgrades or commissioning, and ensuring stable, repeatable operations. 3 years of experience obtaining results in continuous improvement and process/manufacturing engineering using utilizing Lean Sigma methodologies and A3, PFMEA, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, 5 Whys, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and the 8D problem solving process. 3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 1 year of experience in project management and making complex decisions quickly. 3 years of experience of verbal and written communication with operators, executives, and customers. 3 years of experience reading and understanding mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams.
