Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Procedures: Perform blood draws (phlebotomy), administer injections and pediatric immunizations, and execute routine lab tests within the MA scope of certification.
- Patient Preparation & Vitals: Escort patients to exam rooms, record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration), gather chief complaints, and assist patients in preparing for exams and treatments.
- Physician Support: Assist physicians during physical examinations and clinical procedures; take and return patient phone calls or deliver instructions as directed by providers.
- Exam Room & Inventory Maintenance: Keep examination rooms clean, disinfected, and fully stocked with necessary medical supplies; submit supply requisitions as needed.
- Administrative & Charting Support: Assist with medical record maintenance, including completing referral forms, lab requisitions, and required clinical documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant [Required].
- Certification: Active Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA, RMA, or equivalent) [Required].
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
- Travel Background: Previous travel or locums experience [Highly Preferred].
- Personal Attributes: Strong emotional stability, commitment to patient confidentiality (HIPAA), excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
