Senior Inland Marine Claims Specialist - Temp/Remote

About the Role:

Our insurance carrier client is seeking an experienced Senior Inland Marine Claims Specialist for a temporary assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Claims professional with strong Inland Marine experience who can step into a fast-paced environment and independently manage complex claims.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Inland Marine coverage, excellent investigative and analytical skills, and experience handling claims from initial loss through resolution.

Compensation:

• $70.00 - $95.00/hr.

Responsibilities

1. Handle and manage a complex caseload of Inland Marine claims from assignment through resolution.
2. Investigate claims by reviewing loss reports, policy language, statements, documentation, photographs, estimates, and other relevant information.
3. Evaluate coverage, liability, damages, and overall claim exposure.
4. Interpret and apply Inland Marine policy provisions, endorsements, exclusions, and conditions.
5. Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves based on exposure and investigation findings.
6. Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, contractors, vendors, and other involved parties.
7. Identify potential coverage issues and escalate complex matters when appropriate.
8. Coordinate with independent adjusters, experts, engineers, attorneys, and other third-party vendors.
9. Monitor litigated claims and work collaboratively with defense counsel when applicable.
10. Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough claim file documentation.
11. Ensure claims are handled in accordance with company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
12. Provide excellent service and communication to insureds, agents, brokers, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of claims adjusting experience, with significant experience handling Inland Marine claims.
• Strong knowledge of Inland Marine insurance products, coverage, and claims handling practices.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing complex claims.
• Strong analytical, investigative, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet claim handling deadlines.
• Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Active adjuster license(s) as required by applicable states.
