The Herma Heart Institute has an opportunity for a nurse to join the Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) team! This nurse will be paired with a provider supporting both an ACHD and pediatric clinic seeing patients ranging from infancy to 18+ years. In addition, this nurse will support our transition program for our pediatric cardiology patients 16 years and over.
Hours: Four 10-hour days 7am-5pm (no weekends or holiday's)
What you will do:
The Adult Congenital Heart Disease Nurse will be a member of the Herma Heart Institute Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program. This individual will provide and help coordinate care to adult patients with suspected or diagnosed congenital heart disease, in a manner that supports the continuity of care for this diverse and complex population. The nurse will also assist in program development and research initiatives in effort to improve the care and outcomes of all adults with congenital heart disease across the state of Wisconsin and Midwest. In addition, this nurse will provide care to our pediatric patients through a bi-monthly pediatric focused clinic.
What you will need:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and three to four years nursing experience, in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of patient care within a defined patient population, and gain knowledge and skill in nursing procedures and standards.
Current CPR certification ' Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification - American Heart Association (AHA) training will be required within the first year of joining our team.
Cardiac experience highly preferred
Adult experience highly preferred
