Service Carpenters are responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying grocery store facilities to ensure safe, operational, and customer-ready environments. Work includes responding to service requests, performing preventative maintenance, executing minor construction tasks, and coordinating repairs with store management while minimizing disruption to operations. The ideal candidate is highly self-sufficient, professional in occupied environments, and capable of troubleshooting a broad range of facility issues.

Service Carpenters are responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying grocery store facilities to ensure safe, operational, and customer-ready environments. Work includes responding to service requests, performing preventative maintenance, executing minor construction tasks, and coordinating repairs with store management while minimizing disruption to operations. The ideal candidate is highly self-sufficient, professional in occupied environments, and capable of troubleshooting a broad range of facility issues.
***Must be able to work both day and night shifts***
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform general facility repairs involving doors, hardware, drywall, painting, flooring, ceilings, cabinetry, fixtures, restrooms, safety barriers, and exterior finishes.
- Complete minor carpentry, framing, and facility modifications.
- Repair damage resulting from customer traffic, stocking equipment, and daily store operations.
- Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance service requests while minimizing disruption to customers and store operations.
- Coordinate work schedules, access, and repairs with store management.
- Inspect facilities for safety hazards, water intrusion, damaged finishes, and potential code concerns.
- Identify and recommend preventative repairs before issues become larger problems.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout each project.
- Follow OSHA requirements, company safety procedures, food safety practices, and lockout/tagout procedures when applicable.
- Use appropriate barriers and signage to protect customers and employees during active work.
- Complete service reports, photos, time and material tracking, customer sign-offs, and electronic work orders.
- Maintain professional communication with store managers, maintenance coordinators, vendors, and customers.
- Clearly communicate repair status, timelines, and expectations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 3+ years commercial carpentry or maintenance experience preferred
- Experience in occupied commercial facilities preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to read plans, sketches, and work orders
- Basic proficiency using smartphones/tablets for documentation
- Have transportation to and from work
- Be able to travel along the front range
- Must be able to work both days and overnight shifts
