What You'll Do

The High School Partnership Specialist VISTA will further College Possible's efforts to scale the Navigate program across Greater Minnesota to serve first-generation students from low income and rural backgrounds. Navigate is a tech-connected hybrid version of the Flagship program that matches near-peer coaches with eligible students to combat cyclical poverty. The VISTA will build capacity for student recruitment by re-engaging and expanding the high school network within target rural communities that currently have limited college access programming. This will be achieved by building upon existing prospect research systems to execute a stewardship plan for prospective institutional and community partners located outside of the Twin Cities Metro area.

Member Duties

The AmeriCorps member will strengthen student recruitment and partner school recruitment for College Possible's Navigate program across Greater Minnesota.

  • Research and map potential high school and community partners, identify target rural communities, and develop a comprehensive student recruitment and partner stewardship strategy.
  • Create and update student-facing recruitment materials, promotional resources, and partner MOUs, and explore community-based outreach strategies to engage rural students.
  • Develop recruitment tracking systems with goals, benchmarks, and feedback mechanisms for 5–10 new high school partners.
  • Develop staff training resources, develop tools, materials, and guidance that support staff-led in-person recruitment activities, communicate recruitment progress and best practices, and establish sustainable document control processes to support future recruitment cycles.

Qualifications

  • You are a U.S. citizen; AmeriCorps members are required to be U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • You must clear a National Service Criminal History Check and all other security and requirements set forth by College Possible.
