Overview
The SWD (Saltwater Disposal) Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of saltwater disposal facilities and associated equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor SWD facilities, pumps, tanks, piping, valves, and related equipment.
- Monitor pressures, fluid levels, flow rates, and overall facility performance.
- Operate, inspect, and troubleshoot positive displacement (PD) pumps.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and identify mechanical or operational issues.
- Troubleshoot pump failures, leaks, pressure issues, and other facility problems.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and coordinate repairs when needed.
- Monitor tank levels and ensure fluids are safely transferred and disposed of.
- Maintain accurate operating logs, readings, and inspection records.
- Follow all company safety and environmental procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Respond to after-hours callouts, alarms, equipment failures, and operational issues as required.
- Work independently in the field and communicate issues to supervision in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Previous Salt Water Disposal experience required
- Hands-on experience with positive displacement (PD) pumps highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with pumps, tanks, valves, piping, and pressure systems.
- Ability to work independently and make safe operational decisions in the field.
- Must be willing and able to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to callouts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform the physical requirements of the position.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
- Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
