Brandt is seeking an exceptional Payroll Administrator to join our team, supporting payroll operations across both Australia and New Zealand. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis (40 hours per week), and is based at our Ballarat Head Office located at Lake Gardens.

About the role:
Reporting to the Payroll Team Lead, and working closely with the Payroll and HR Teams, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and related employee payments. This role ensures compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, taxation requirements, and organisational policies while providing excellent customer service to employees,
• Respond and resolve routine payroll related queries in a timely manner through monitoring the payroll inbox and phone enquiries.
• Ensure all onboarding and offboarding activities are completed in a timely manner
• Process fortnightly, Commission, TVP and ad-hoc pay runs for Australia and New Zealand, including time sheet collection, data preparation, calculation, review and payment within established timelines
• Calculate and process wages, salaries, overtime, allowances, deductions, reimbursements and termination pays.
• Ensure compliance with Payday Superannuation, Fair Work legislation, NES, Modern Awards, IRD, Kiwisaver and other applicable laws and regulations
• Ensure adherence to Brandt’s policies and procedures that relate specifically to payroll
• Respond and resolve to routine payroll-related queries in a timely manner, through monitoring the payroll inbox and phone enquiries.
• Maintain regular, clear and respectful communication with managers and employees
• Demonstrate a customer focused, proactive and solutions-based approach to meet functional and organisational objectives.
• Accurately maintain and update employee personnel files
Compliance and Reporting
• Maintain up to date knowledge of statutory requirements, tax obligations and regulatory changes across AUS and NZ
• Prepare and submit Payday Superannuation, IRD and other required filings
• Generate and distribute accurate payroll reports for Finance, HR and senior management
• Support end-of-year payroll activities and reconciliations.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of employee payroll information.
Process Improvement
• Assist the Payroll Team Lead to identify & implement opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes
• Solve problems and meet challenges with the support of the team
• Perform regular audits and reconciliations to identify and correct errors
• Undertake administration payroll projects under the direction of the Payroll Lead
About you:
The successful candidate will have strong administration skills and 5+ years of experience in volume payroll.
• Experience in running end to end payroll and sharing the load with the team
• Exceptional attention to detail, strict confidentiality and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Take direction from the Payroll Team Lead, prioritise tasks and meet strict deadlines
• Strong focus on accuracy
• Commitment to compliance and continuous improvement
• Passion for implementing administration procedures
• Strong commitment to teamwork and the ability to contribute to the achievement of team goals.
• Experience in a wide range of software applications, including a variety of Windows based applications and databases (UKG & Payroll Metrics highly advantageous).
• Comprehensive understanding of Excel
• Previous experience in maintaining office information systems and procedures within a payroll environment.
• Working knowledge of modern awards: specifically, the VRSR and Clerical awards, and New Zealand legislation
• Open to learning new systems
• Experience in delivering high-quality customer service in a demanding and confidential environment, and the handling of sensitive information
