Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL
We are seeking a Medical-Surgical Nursing Assistant (Certified or Non-Certified), also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele PCU Nursing Assistant. The Med-Surg/Tele/PCU Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. They play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.
Responsibilities
** If you are a non-licensed Nursing Assistant (NA) or a Certified (CNA) and have no prior experience, we encourage you to apply. Entry-Level NAs or CNAs are welcome to apply!
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, you may also feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses, you may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN
- Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe
- Assist in transporting patients within the hospital
Qualifications
- Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate or within 6 months of hire and maintain current
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office
