Summary:
This position is responsible for performing entry-level general labor duties while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson Foods' policies and procedures. Applicants will be considered for available Utility Labor openings on any shift, including day, evening, or night shift. Team members may be assigned to various departments based on business needs, including but not limited to Tortilla, Taco, Corn, and Packing. This position requires the ability to learn and perform multiple jobs throughout the facility and to move between departments as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn and perform Utility Labor job functions across multiple departments as assigned.
- Follow all food safety, quality assurance, and production requirements.
- Immediately notify the Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance of any product contamination or food safety concerns.
- Monitor equipment for signs of damage, wear, or malfunction and report concerns to management.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the essential job functions of assigned Utility Labor positions within the 10-working-day training and qualification period.
- Ensure products meet established quality and customer specifications.
- Safely operate assigned equipment and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), personal hygiene standards, and housekeeping requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work cooperatively with team members to achieve departmental and production goals.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and work instructions, whether written or communicated verbally.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and use hands and wrists to perform job tasks.
- Occasionally lift, lower, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work in various departments and move between production lines as needed.
- Perform repetitive motions associated with food production and packaging activities.
