Job Description

Terminal Representative – Winnipeg International Airport 

Allied Universal Canada is seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused Terminal Representatives to join our team at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport

This position is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 airport environment. The Terminal Representative will support access control, airport security operations, passenger assistance, traffic control, and overall safety and security within designated airport areas. 

Position Information 

  • Job Title: Terminal Representative 
  • Location: Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport, Winnipeg, Manitoba 
  • Number of Vacancies: 5 
  • Employment Type: Full-Time 
  • Pay Rate: $16.96 per hour 
  • Schedule: 4 days on / 4 days off; 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM & 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM 
  • Security License: Not required 

Security Clearance Requirements 

Candidates must have resided continuously in Canada for a minimum of five (5) years to meet applicable airport security clearance requirements. 

Successful candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)

Key Responsibilities 

As a Terminal Representative, you will play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient airport environment. Responsibilities include: 

  • Conduct regular security patrols of assigned terminal areas, restricted areas, and other designated locations. 
  • Monitor and manage access control within designated airport areas. 
  • Verify credentials, identification, and access permissions in accordance with established procedures. 
  • Monitor security systems and maintain a high level of situational awareness. 
  • Control access to restricted and controlled areas. 
  • Supports emergency communication procedures. 
  • Follow airport security policies, procedures, and applicable Government of Canada protocols. 
  • Provide professional, courteous, and effective assistance to passengers, airport employees, and other stakeholders. 
  • Identify, address, and report on security, safety, and access-control concerns. 
  • Provide relief coverage for traffic control and curbside operations as required. 
  • Assist with the safe and orderly movement of vehicles and passengers in designated curbside areas. 
  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout assigned terminal areas. 
  • Complete accurate patrol logs, reports, incident reports, and other required documentation. 
  • Remain calm, professional, and decisive during emergencies and high-pressure situations. 
  • Participate in cross-training and provide operational support in other Level 1 positions as required. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of airport operations. 

 

Qualifications and Skills 

Successful candidates should have: 

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a valid RAIC. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness. 
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations 
  • The ability to work both indoors and outdoors. 
  • Flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays. 

Assets 

The following are considered assets: 

  • Previous security or access control experience. 
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification. 
  • Post-secondary education.
