Sample and Material Assistant

Overview

The jobholder would conduct kit production, label production, sample receiving, login, shipping in support of logistic center services.

Responsibilities

• Perform biological samples and kit supplies activities, including shipping, receiving, storage, material handling, transfer, and tracking of samples and supplies.
• Putting labels on supplies to make supply kits according to lab manual requirement
• Label all biological samples/specimens with proper identification and organize logically according to appropriate procedures
• Transfer samples, kit and other applicable supplies to appropriate locations and/or storages, and make documentation of each key steps
• Delivers accurate results on assigned tasks within or ahead of the expected timeframe.
• Receive specific instructions on assigned task
• Complies with all safety rules, practices good housekeeping, and maintains safe workplace without supervision.

• Follow company’s policies including safety policies, practices and procedures in order to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Ability to perform without supervision after training
• Ability to follow instructions to perform required procedures
• Well organized, detail oriented, and adaptable to changes
• Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer skills: knowledge of internet research, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work in a team environment

 

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.
• Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to Animals, biohazards / chemicals 
• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE
• Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels
• Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time
• Ability to Lift/push/pull 15 lbs. routinely
• Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach
• Clarity of Vision
• Ability to identify and distinguish colors
• Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions

• Ability to work in variable temperatures high to freezing
