Job Summary
Position is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities and functions of the Clinical Solutions department, providing ongoing technical leadership in support of Memorial Hermann Healthcare System values and objectives.Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills required in a large, complex corporate Information System. A working knowledge of mainframe, minicomputer, or microcomputer strategies, equipment, operating systems, development tools and methodologies is required. The Clinical Solutions Manager reports to the Director and/or System Executive of Clinical Solutions.
The Clinical Solutions Manager applies management and technical skills in line with the values and goals of MH to ensure the efficient, effective and consistent delivery of high quality services. The Clinical Solutions Manager is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to the values of the corporation through active participation in the Partners In Caring, Customer Service and Continuous Quality Improvement programs

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, a clinical field or equivalent experience
License/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Six (6) years of industry training and increasingly responsible experience in managing large, complex corporate information systems and activities
Knowledgeable of application programming skills and technologies
Experience in leading projects
Demonstrated in-depth technical knowledge and complex problem solving abilities
Demonstrated successful completion of projects through planning and organizational skills
Exceptional communication skills
Principal Accountabilities
Manages, assigns and coordinates workflow of staff.
Provides guidance in problem determination and resolution.
Leads the development, implementation, communication, and promotion of IT strategic plans.
Supervises, trains, and mentors a staff of skilled Information System professionals.
Participates in the establishment of department quality objectives and benchmarks. Coordinates the implementation of effective tools to measure performance against these standards.
Provides the support and motivation necessary to create and maintain a technical atmosphere that encourages proactive research and development.
Oversees the performance of design, coding, testing and implementation for complex computer programs and systems.
Manages the execution of service requests/projects according to established timeframes.
Maintains an effective level of coordination on projects.
Translates user and department information needs into technical solutions.
Resolves user issues.
Supports the ISD Solution Segment concept and may function as a Solution Segment owner
Manages Vendor communications.
Responsible for employee appraisals.
Conducts Staff Meetings.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
