Description
Infinity Natural Resources is seeking a Senior Strategic Planning Engineer to support and maintain our integrated development schedule and capital execution plans across our operated asset portfolio. Working closely with reservoir, drilling, completions, production, facilities, midstream, land, commercial, and finance teams, you'll align development activities with corporate objectives, operational constraints, and capital allocation priorities. This is a great opportunity for an analytical, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys serving as a key link between technical and business functions, providing schedule management, scenario analysis, and reporting that drive informed decision-making across the development program.
Location
This is a hybrid position based out of our Houston, TX office. You will be expected to work in the office three days a week.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the company's integrated development schedule to support execution of drilling, completions, production, facility, and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with operations, subsurface, finance, land, midstream, and commercial teams to ensure development activities are accurately represented and aligned with strategic objectives.
- Coordinate schedule updates, milestone tracking, and development timing changes to provide timely visibility into operational performance and capital program execution.
- Support development planning efforts through scenario evaluation and sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of changing operational, financial, regulatory, or market conditions.
- Generate and distribute planning reports, dashboards, and performance metrics that improve visibility into schedule status, development progress, and key operational indicators.
- Support annual budgeting, long-range planning, reserves planning, and forecast processes by providing schedule-driven inputs and development timing assumptions.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify risks, constraints, and optimization opportunities that improve capital efficiency and project execution.
- Maintain planning data integrity by validating schedule assumptions, dependencies, and development criteria across functional teams.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of planning tools, reporting capabilities, and automated workflows to improve data accessibility and decision support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, forecasting, and business processes through application of new technologies, analytics, and best practices.
- Provide technical support and presentations to management regarding development plans, operational performance, and strategic planning alternatives.
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another accredited engineering discipline, with a minimum of five years of experience in upstream oil and gas, including planning, development engineering, reserves, operations engineering, drilling and completions, or related technical disciplines.
- Experience supporting integrated development planning, capital program management, scheduling, forecasting, or cross-functional operations coordination.
- Demonstrated experience working with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute operational plans and business objectives.
- Proficiency with development planning and scheduling software; experience with Actenum DSO or similar planning tools preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex operational and economic scenarios and understand cross-functional impacts.
- Experience building and maintaining reports, dashboards, and visualization tools using Power BI, Spotfire, or comparable business intelligence platforms.
- Familiarity with database and data management concepts, including the ability to work with structured datasets and automated reporting solutions.
- Working knowledge of upstream oil and gas development workflows, including drilling, completions, production operations, facilities, and capital planning.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high levels of data accuracy.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Appalachian Basin operations and familiarity with Ohio and Pennsylvania regulatory environments preferred.
