Operations Manager

Description

The Hampton Inn & Suites - Fredericksburg @ Celebrate VA, managed by Essex Hotel Management, is currently seeking a DRIVEN Operations Manager.

The Operations Manager supports the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in overseeing day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring consistent execution of brand standards, Company service expectations, and hotel financial performance.  This includes oversight and support of multiple departments, including guest service, housekeeping, and engineering.  

Responsibilities:

• Assist the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage departments. 
• Responsible for supervising associates, managing expenses, and maintaining high service standards in all departments, including guest service, housekeeping, and maintenance.
• Assist in hiring, training, and onboarding new employees to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and brand standards. 
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed; Provide feedback on operational effectiveness and improvement opportunities 
• Oversee PM systems used to manage guests, as well as maintenance work orders, to make sure staff are utilizing these appropriately 
• Monitor and analyze financial reports to ensure that the hotel is meeting its financial goals.
• Ensure that all guests receive exceptional service and that their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
• Resolve customer complaints; anticipate potential problems by reviewing and monitoring complaints, operational issues, business flow, and associate performance to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and quality.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with all staff members and departments.
• Ensure that the hotel is in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Requirements

Essential 

• 2 years of hotel experience, preferably in a comparable hotel. 
• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training. 
• Ability to manage all departments, including overnight operations 
• Must possess thorough knowledge of all hotel operations and individual job requirements. 
• Able to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. 

Desirable 

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of HRM/timekeeping systems? 
• Prior leadership experience in Front Desk and/or Housekeeping; maintenance coordination experience. 
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred.
