Security Officer Lead

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Lead Security Officer, you will lead a team in performing a full range of security activities, diligently patrolling campuses and clinics to protect persons, property, and equipment from volatile individuals, unauthorized access, or hazards.Every day you will oversee security operations, patrol assigned buildings (foot/vehicle), identify violations, investigate incidents, respond to alarms/emergency codes, control hospital access, monitor detection systems, support helistop operations, and de-escalate or physically restrain individuals when necessary, meticulously documenting all actions and observations.To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional vigilance, customer service skills, physical capacity for emergency response, and the ability to exercise sound judgment in interpreting and applying security guidelines, all while upholding a safe and secure environment.

• Provides leadership for Security Services
• Ensures delivery of quality services; regulatory compliance, and manages operations efficiently and effectively.
• Assist with oversight of the campus security and parking enforcement
• Plans, organizes and directs work assignments. Assists with training of security staff.
• Ensures that all Security Officers assigned to the shift meet program standards, including uniform and grooming standards
• Assists with the implementation and maintenance of security procedures to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate or equivalent; and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, , upon hire or
• Prior law enforcement or military service experience; or
• Driver's License: NE, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days

Preferred

• One year experience as a security officer:(International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) Basic & Advanced courses within 90 days of position appointment.)

Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan, you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.
