ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Director, Scientific Operations Lead, this role will lead and execute external engagement plans that foster meaningful connections, build trust, and inspire pride in the Pearl River site. The position will organize high-impact site activities, support senior leader engagement, and advance initiatives that strengthen site performance while elevating Pearl River’s reputation as a center of vaccine excellence and a valued partner in the local community.
Success in this role will depend on the ability to build and sustain strong, collaborative relationships across diverse teams and with external community partners. These partnerships will be essential to creating a cohesive, engaging, and well-organized site environment that supports colleagues and reflects the best of Pearl River.
What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
- Develop long-term strategic plan and day-to-day management of external engagement activities for the Pearl River site and colleagues
- Reinforce Pfizer Pearl River as a center for vaccine excellence and responsible corporate partner in our local communities
- Partner with colleagues across the Scientific Affairs and Operations teams on shared goals and deliverables involving:
Site Affairs
- Lead Pearl River Site Affairs projects - this includes planning meetings and events for senior leaders and Pearl River Site Leadership Team such as All-Hands Meetings, VIP site visits, Science Summits, colleague engagement events, onboarding new hires and interns, etc.
- Coordinate support functions for events and activities, e.g., catering, AV equipment, communications.
- Partner with senior leaders on ad hoc project to support colleague recognition
Internal Communications
- Develop long-term strategic plan and day-to-day management of an integrated communications program across multiple channels (e.g., Engage posts, Site Newsletter, e-signs, emails) for the Pearl River site.
- Manage editorial calendar ensuring balance across themes and in alignment with site goals, messaging, and news and in collaboration with messaging from other groups
- Grow Pearl River’s internal social media channels
- Point of contact to liaise with digital, media and R&D communications to identify opportunities to highlight Pearl River at Corporate level
- Provide metrics assessing reader interest in newsletters, emails, posts etc. and look for ways to increase readership and engagement
- Refine Pearl River’s SharePoint site and generate content for ensuring it is fresh, engaging, resonates with on-site colleagues, and published in a timely manner
- Research, write, publish short/long-form articles, executive leadership emails, videos, infographics, PowerPoint presentations, etc. and ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, simplicity of language and news impact
- Responsible for the technical skills and working knowledge to manage technical aspects of the Site’s SharePoint and emails
External Engagement
- Act as a key point of contact for local associations and internal colleagues alike to act as an ambassador to the site.
- Coordinate community grants and scholarship programs and budgets.
- Lead volunteer initiatives for colleagues in the community
- Inspire and sustain an active interest in STEM education among students in regions where Pfizer Vaccine R&D has a presence
- Lead programing for Interns and Rotational Associates on site at Pearl River
- Advance STEM education to local schools:
- Point of Contact with local school administrations
- Organize interested Pearl River colleagues to present materials by fostering an active and inclusive environment for interested scientists and clinicians
- When applicable, offer career exploration sessions and Q&A between Pfizer colleagues and local schools and students
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Seasoned project manager with 6+ years of experience
- Prior experience working with site leadership to execute site plans/activities
- Excellent written, oral, communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Experience developing, managing and implementing project plans
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, make decisions and respond to tight timelines
- Proven strategic thinking with ability to lead day-to-day planning and operational activities and develop solutions to complex problems
- Creative thinker, with experience in event planning & execution
- Exhibits strong collaboration skills and ability to engage across multiple functions and businesses
- Strong analytical skills to assess information, draw conclusions and recommend improvements
- Discretion and the ability to deal with confidential information
- Responsive, professional and courteous demeanor in all interactions keeping in line with our values
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

- Experience in the pharma, biotech sector or life sciences

- Knowledge of Pfizer organization processes and procedures
- Proficiency in Gemini and/or other AI platforms
- Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
