Join Our Team as OET Interlocutor(s) in Manchester! Mobile Testing Solutions Ltd (“MTS”) is a global exam service provider for a variety of exam boards which also has an online exam preparation school.We're on the lookout for OET Interlocutor(s) to join our Manchester team on casual zero-hours basis. If you're someone who thrives in dynamic exams environments and has a keen eye for detail, this role might be your perfect fit.What You'll Do:Delivery of speaking test scripted role plays and interviews on test day in line with specific requirements of OET ExamsRun test interview to time following the script and role play information providedParticipate appropriately in role plays with candidatesUse recording equipment provided competently and as instructedMaintain consistent delivery of interview for each candidateAppropriate and secure handling of all test materialsMaintain the confidentiality of all training/ induction and test materials and proceduresEnsure that interviews are conducted with no candidate with whom there has been prior professional or social contactNeed to carry out the OET certification by completing the online training courseReport any issues related to test delivery or candidates to the OET Exams Test Venue ManagerCarry out regular audits, guided by the OET Exams Test Venue ManagerUse company’s email address and email account for correspondence with MTS colleagues and ensure that MTS’s confidential, internal documents, information and data are not disclosed to anyone other than their intended recipient/readerUse own laptop or desktop PC for self-led e-learning/online training events and Teams or Zoom meetings or training sessionsBe willing to use own smartphone and data allowance to access MTS's systemComply fully with MTS’s GDPR, data protection policies, standards and Safeguarding (Children and Vulnerable People) policy and any other signed compliance agreementsParticipate actively in performance monitoring exercise based on the exam performance for continuous improvementBe smartly dressed as per MTS policyGive our test takers the highest level of customer care, ensure secure and safe exams administration and abiding by the rules and regulations set by each examining bodyCarry out any other tasks and activities for MTS, according to business priority, as appropriate for this level roleWhat You Bring:Have a degree or equivalent from a certified university or educational instituteOverall language proficiency equivalent to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level C1 or higherExam administration experience is an advantage, but not essentialClear diction, including minimal interference from the first language in pronunciationLinguistic accuracy (Note: language competencies are not illustrated in terms of being a ‘native speaker’ of English. All prospective Interlocutors, whether English is their first or additional language, must meet the same professional requirements)Ability to communicate in the interview context and participate in the role play competently and confidentlyMust not be involved with teaching OETSensitive to local cultural norms/issues and able to interact appropriately with candidates, such a way as to ensure that the candidates provide a sample of English that is representative of their speaking abilityReady to respond to guidance and advice given in the context of training, during monitoring or informallyComfortable with common IT hardware and softwareMeticulous and organised in your approachAbility to multitask and remain calm under pressureCollaborative mindset with a can-do attitudeWillingness to adapt to varying working hoursEligibility to live and work in the UKWhat We Offer:Competitive Pay: £8.28 per test taker (inclusive of holiday pay) which is equivalent to around £16.56 (inclusive of holiday pay) per hour as each test takes approximately 30 minutesFlexible Hours: Exams take place twice a month on Saturdays, where interlocution session is conducted between 12.30pm and 6pm in the afternoon time, with occasionally further opportunity to work as Test Administrator in the morning session.Pension Plan: Enrolment in the NEST pension schemeImmediate Start: We're eager to have you on board immediately!Location: Connell College, 301 Alan Turing Way, Manchester M11 3BSSafer Recruitment Process: MTS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults, and expects all employees and any stakeholders to share this commitment.The recruitment process of selected candidates at each stage will require to complete some safer recruitment checks, which include:Completion of a Self-Declaration Questionnaire during submission of application regarding suitability to work with children/vulnerable adultsAn Enhanced DBS check with Child and Adult Barred List information (or equivalent for overseas applicants)At least two satisfactory references, one of which must be the most recent employerProof of identity and right to work in the UKOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
