About the RoleAt Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, every member of our team plays an important role in improving the lives of patients and advancing the fight against cancer. As a Clinical Pharmacist Generalist, you will be a trusted medication expert who helps ensure patients receive safe, effective, and personalized treatment.
In this role, you will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care across a variety of clinical settings. From reviewing medication orders to counseling patients and contributing to treatment decisions, your expertise will have a direct impact on patient outcomes and experiences.

What You'll Do
Review, evaluate, and dispense medications accurately and safely
Prepare and oversee a variety of medication therapies, including:
Unit dose medications
Intravenous (IV) medications
Total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
Chemotherapy treatments
Investigational and research-related medications
Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses to support medication-related treatment decisions
Monitor patient drug therapies and recommend adjustments or cost-effective alternatives when appropriate
Educate and counsel patients on the safe and effective use of prescribed medications
Help identify and prevent medication-related issues to support the highest standards of patient safety
Provide guidance and oversight to pharmacy technicians and support staff
Contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered pharmacy practice

Successful candidates will typically bring:
A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent education and training
Licensure or eligibility for pharmacist licensure in New York State
Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail

The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
A commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous improvement
Experience in hospital, oncology, or specialty pharmacy settings is valued

Salary: Starting annual salary of $144,241 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications:
Required Education and ExperienceLicense Requirement
License to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of New York
Education and Experience
1. Doctor of Pharmacy degree; or
2. Master’s degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time clinical pharmacy or pharmacy-related experience; or
3. Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of three (3) of full-time clinical pharmacy or pharmacy-related experience.
NOTES:
1. Incumbents must be credentialed as a member of the organization Medical Staff (Allied Health Professional) within four months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
