Job description: Senior technician (IFM)

Position summary: The Senior technician sits within the client’s IFM team and is responsible for supporting safe, reliable day-to-day operations across the client office and staff residential properties. The role delivers building facility services through planned inspections, coordinating maintenance/repairs, and managing contractor performance across assigned locations.

Reports to: Post facilities manager

Key responsibilities

• Technical responsibilities (office and facilities equipment)

• Oversee maintenance activities for plant and facilities equipment to support smooth daily operations across the client office(s).
• Perform routine inspections using predefined checklists; record findings, raise follow-up actions, and track closure.
• Coordinate contractors for reactive and planned works (scope, scheduling, site access, supervision, and completion verification).
• Organize repair quotations and negotiate scope, cost, and timeline with vendors
• Monitor and manage service-provider performance to ensure works are delivered to required standards, timelines, and HSE expectations. 

Support delivery of building facility services as required (including health & safety and engineering-related support aligned to the site scope). 

• Residential property management (staff accommodation)

• Conduct HSE inspections for staff residential properties and manage corrective action follow-up.
• Liaise with landlords to coordinate remedial and maintenance work, including access and completion confirmation.
• Maintain landlord reporting and records (inspection reports, action trackers, and completion evidence).

• Documentation and reporting

• Maintain accurate logs and documentation for inspections, maintenance actions, contractor works, and property/landlord communications to support compliance and operational reporting. 

 

Qualifications and experience:

• At least 2- year experience in engineering/maintenance/building services including contractor coordination and inspection routines. 
• Working knowledge of HSE practices and safe systems of work.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with client stakeholders, contractors, and landlords.
• Fluent English
