Our brand, Lennor Metier Consulting, a DOLE-licensed headhunting and recruitment agency in the Philippines, is proud to partner with a Global Insurance and Brokerage company in their search for an Insurance Underwriter based in BGC, Taguig City.
Salary Range: Open to discussion
Work Setup: Hybrid (2-3x RTO)
Shift Schedule: Shifting (Depending on the assigned region)
Location: BGC, Taguig City
The role
The Insurance Underwriter evaluates property and liability risks and determines appropriate coverage, pricing, and terms in line with carrier guidelines. The role involves risk assessment, agent/broker coordination, compliance, documentation, reporting, and collaboration with onshore teams.
Your Responsibilities:
- Review and assess applications for property and liability insurance, including homeowners, commercial property, and general liability.
- Analyze property details, occupancy, claims history, and supporting documentation to determine risk.
- Establish appropriate coverage limits, deductibles, premiums, and policy terms based on risk and underwriting guidelines.
- Liaise with insurance agents and brokers to clarify information, obtain additional details, and negotiate terms.
- Ensure underwriting decisions comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate underwriting records, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and maintain internal reports and underwriting files.
- Collaborate with onshore teams to support efficient workflows and service delivery.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Insurance, or a related field.
- Solid experience of underwriting or relevant insurance experience, depending on level (UW L1/L2).
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Good understanding of insurance regulations, underwriting principles, and industry practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
- AU, AINS, CII, or CPCU certification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of insurance practices in the UK, Australia, and US markets is preferred.
