The Marketplace Engineering team at Walmart Global Tech leads innovation in global commerce by powering a rapidly expanding eCommerce platform. This team develops advanced tools for storefront management, pricing, and inventory control, supporting thousands of sellers worldwide. They create reliable, intelligent systems integrating real-time data and partner platforms to ensure seamless order experiences. Focused on scalable, cloud-native architectures, the team collaborates across functions to align technology with business objectives, driving continuous improvement and delivering exceptional customer experiences on a global scale.
What you'll do:

• Lead execution of complex software, data, and ML systems ensuring reliability, scalability, and integration across platforms.
• Oversee full software development lifecycle, championing DevOps practices and cloud cost optimization to enhance engineering efficiency.
• Collaborate with product and data teams to deliver AI/ML-enabled features and autonomous agentic systems.
• Build and mentor high-performing teams, fostering professional growth and succession planning.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies, align roadmaps with organizational priorities, and drive stakeholder engagement.
• Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize processes, tools, and technical delivery.
• Apply sound technical judgment to balance trade-offs and ensure quality outcomes.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience leading complex software engineering teams and managing full software development lifecycles.
• Proven ability to drive system-level execution, ensuring reliability, scalability, and integration across platforms.
• Strong expertise in DevOps practices, cloud cost optimization, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Demonstrated success in AI/ML product development and integration using languages such as Python, Java, Rust, and Dart.
• Exceptional skills in stakeholder management, project planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Effective leadership in coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Ability to adapt to change, innovate continuously, and align technical strategies with business goals.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
