Intermediate System Designer

Description

 As a member of a dynamic development team, the Intermediate System Designer will be responsible for system architecture, key hardware technology selection and understanding software interactions with hardware for carrier-grade Optical Network Terminals(ONTs) Optical Line Terminals (OLTs) and Customer Premise Equipment (CPE)

What You’ll Do

• Work together with hardware engineers, software engineers and quality assurance engineers to ensure products meet design specifications and performance requirements
• Performance optimization by identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to improve speed, reliability and capacity of the network elements.
• Investigate customer HW and system related issues
• Creating and maintaining technical documents for network design, configuration and troubleshooting procedures.
• Stay current on the latest technology and best practices.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent coupled with 5+ years' experience in Optical, RF, or Wi-Fi network equipment design for Broadband Technology
• Experience with network design tools like Mathcad, GNPy for example
• Experience with network hardware (transceivers, routers, switches, WiFi ONT, OLTs)
• Excellent communication skills 
• Foster Collaboration 
• Ability to debug complex issues

Assets You May Possess

• Experience with carrier-grade system requirements 
• Experience with a variety of telecommunications standards would be an asset
• Experience with high-speed digital devices and RF signal analysis would be an asset
• Experience with scripting languages would be an asset
