Batteries Plus is a specialty retail and service business providing battery, automotive, key programming, device repair, lighting, and other technical solutions. Our Repair Technicians are the hands-on experts who perform many of these services for our customers.

We're looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who enjoy working with tools, solving technical problems, and taking pride in doing the job correctly.

This role is well suited for someone with mechanical, electronics, repair, trade, or other hands-on experience who wants to develop stronger technical skills in a structured professional environment.

You do not need prior experience with our specific products or services. We provide training to help technically capable people develop the specialized skills needed to succeed.

What You'll Do

• Device Repair: Perform phone, tablet, and small-electronics repairs using structured repair procedures and quality standards.

• Automotive Services: Cut and program automotive keys and complete battery testing and installation services.

• Diagnostics & Quality: Troubleshoot issues, follow repair guides, document completed work, and focus on getting the job right the first time.

• Customer Support: Communicate professionally with customers about service options, repair expectations, and completed work.

• Technical Operations: Maintain an organized work area, care for tools and repair inventory, and follow safety and service procedures.

This is primarily a hands-on technical role with regular customer interaction and teamwork with our sales staff.

Pay & Performance

Expected Total Earnings: $20.00–$23.50 per hour

Your total earnings are made up of:

• Hourly Pay: $15.50–$16.50 per hour

• Uncapped Repair Incentives: Typically add $3.50–$5.25+ per hour based on completed eligible repair services

• Weekend Premium: +$5 per hour for weekend hours worked

• 90-Day Training Guarantee: Base-level repair incentive earnings are guaranteed while you learn the role and build your technical skills

• Technical Aptitude: Comfortable working with tools, small components, mechanical systems, electronics, or other hands-on applications.

• Growth-Minded: Open to coaching and motivated to continue building technical expertise.

We're looking for someone interested in developing a long-term technical skill set, not simply trying repair work temporarily.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 18 years of age or older

• Valid driver's license

• Weekday and weekend availability

• Demonstrated hands-on mechanical or technical aptitude through work experience, training, education, or personal experience

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with small components

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured repair procedures

Experience in phone or electronics repair, automotive or mechanical service, technical training, or another structured repair environment is helpful but not required.
