Description
Process Engineer – Dunfermline
Our leading technology client based in Dunfermline is looking for a Process Engineer to bring experience, practical ideas and greater structure to its manufacturing operation.
The business has achieved an incredible amount in a short time. With investment in equipment and a developing team already in place, this is an opportunity to take ownership of manufacturing processes, put your ideas into practice and make a visible contribution to its continued growth.
You will enjoy variety across production methods, equipment performance, quality and continuous improvement, working closely with colleagues to capture existing knowledge, establish consistent ways of working and improve how products move through the factory.
The role
This is a hands-on position where you will spend time understanding the operation, identifying priorities and putting improvements into practice. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing clear manufacturing steps, work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Improving process flow, factory layout and the movement of work between production stages.
- Monitoring equipment performance and OEE, tackling bottlenecks and reducing downtime.
- Improving cycle times, capacity and manufacturing costs.
- Investigating process and quality issues, implementing corrective actions to reduce scrap and rework.
- Supporting operators with practical guidance and training.
- Contributing to the introduction of new products, equipment and processes.
What you will bring
You will have experience in process or manufacturing engineering and a track record of making practical improvements within a production environment.
Your experience could come from a range of manufacturing sectors. What matters is your ability to understand unfamiliar processes, work with the people who know them and develop reliable, efficient manufacturing methods.
You will be comfortable taking ownership, using production data to support decisions and bringing colleagues with you when introducing change. Experience of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, process documentation and equipment performance will be particularly relevant.
An engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience would provide a strong foundation.
What is on offer?
- Attractive salary, with flexibility for candidates bringing additional experience.
- A permanent role with autonomy and scope to influence a growing manufacturing operation.
- A 39-hour working week over five days.
- 28 days’ annual leave.
- Company pension and life insurance.
- On-site parking, including EV charging.
- Access to an on-site gym and tennis courts, with tennis lessons available for staff.
- Wellbeing initiatives.
If you enjoy understanding how things work, spotting opportunities and having the freedom to make improvements happen, this role offers the chance to shape how an ambitious technology business manufactures as it grows.
