Description

Matriarch Longevity

Integrative & Functional Medicine Provider – Women's Health & Longevity

Position: Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

Location: Spring Hill/Columbia

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Specialty: Functional & Integrative Medicine, Gut Health, Metabolic Wellness, Preventive Care & Longevity

Position Overview

At Matriarch Longevity, we believe women deserve healthcare that listens, looks deeper, and treats the whole person.

Too often, women experiencing fatigue, digestive concerns, weight fluctuations, brain fog, chronic inflammation, sleep disturbances, and other frustrating symptoms are told their labs are normal or that their symptoms are simply part of aging.

We believe women deserve more than that.

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and forward-thinking medical provider who shares our passion for helping women understand their bodies, identify the underlying contributors to their symptoms, and take an active role in their long-term health.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in functional, integrative, or lifestyle medicine and understands the complex relationships between gut health, metabolic function, nutrition, inflammation, stress, sleep, hormonal changes, and emotional well-being.

We are looking for someone who values a thoughtful, individualized approach to medicine, someone who takes the time to listen, asks deeper questions, and looks beyond isolated laboratory values to understand the full clinical picture.

Our clinic includes a dedicated hormone health provider who focuses on hormonal evaluation and optimization. This position will complement that specialty by addressing the broader aspects of women's health, including digestive wellness, metabolic health, nutritional deficiencies, lifestyle factors, and preventive longevity medicine.

Our philosophy is to explore evidence-based lifestyle, nutritional, and holistic interventions whenever appropriate, while recognizing the important role of medications and medical treatments when clinically indicated.

This is an opportunity to practice medicine in an environment that prioritizes meaningful patient relationships, thoughtful clinical decision-making, and long-term wellness over rushed appointments and symptom-focused care.

Key Responsibilities

Comprehensive Functional & Integrative Medicine

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations that explore medical history, symptoms, lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, stress, environmental exposures, and personal health goals.
  • Evaluate women experiencing persistent fatigue, digestive concerns, metabolic changes, brain fog, sleep disturbances, and other complex wellness concerns.
  • Investigate potential underlying contributors to symptoms through comprehensive clinical assessments, appropriate diagnostic testing, and thoughtful interpretation of findings.
  • Evaluate the relationships between digestive health, nutritional status, metabolic function, inflammation, stress, and overall well-being.
  • Interpret laboratory findings within the context of symptoms, medical history, risk factors, and the patient's overall clinical picture.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating conventional medicine, nutrition, lifestyle modifications, and evidence-informed complementary therapies.
  • Emphasize prevention, early identification of health risks, and sustainable strategies that support long-term vitality.

Gut Health, Nutrition & Digestive Wellness

  • Evaluate patients experiencing bloating, constipation, diarrhea, food-related symptoms, and other gastrointestinal concerns.
  • Assess potential contributors to digestive dysfunction, including dietary patterns, medications, medical conditions, and lifestyle factors.
  • Utilize appropriate evidence-based diagnostic testing and refer for specialized gastrointestinal evaluation when indicated.
  • Understand the role of the gut microbiome, gut-brain connection, and nutrition in overall health.
  • Identify nutritional deficiencies and develop individualized treatment recommendations.
  • Provide education on whole-food nutrition, adequate protein and fiber intake, hydration, and digestive wellness.
  • Collaborate with nutrition professionals and longevity coaches to help patients implement sustainable dietary and lifestyle changes.

Metabolic Health, Weight Management & Longevity

  • Evaluate and manage metabolic concerns, including insulin resistance, prediabetes, dyslipidemia, weight changes, and other cardiometabolic risk factors.
  • Assess appropriate metabolic laboratory markers and clinical indicators to guide individualized care.
  • Develop comprehensive weight-management strategies that emphasize nutrition, physical activity, metabolic health, and sustainable behavior change.
  • Provide medically supervised weight-management services, including GLP-1 therapies when clinically appropriate.
  • Emphasize preservation of lean muscle mass, strength, mobility, cardiovascular fitness, and healthy body composition.
  • Educate patients on preventive health strategies that support healthy aging and reduce long-term disease risk.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and evolving health needs.

Integrative & Holistic Medical Care

  • Incorporate a whole-person approach that recognizes the importance of nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, emotional wellness, and environmental influences.
  • Prioritize appropriate lifestyle and nonpharmacologic interventions when clinically reasonable, without delaying necessary medical treatment.
  • Evaluate the need for nutritional supplementation based on clinical findings, dietary intake, and individual health needs.
  • Educate patients on evidence-informed supplementation, nutrient adequacy, and the potential role of professional-grade supplements.
  • Understand the potential benefits, limitations, and safety considerations of complementary wellness modalities, including red light therapy, mindfulness, recovery practices, and other integrative approaches.
  • Incorporate education on circadian rhythm, natural light exposure, sleep optimization, and stress reduction into individualized care plans.
  • Support patients interested in natural wellness strategies while maintaining high standards of clinical safety and evidence-based care.
  • Avoid unnecessary medications, testing, and supplementation while ensuring patients receive appropriate medical treatment.

Collaboration With Hormone Health Provider

  • Work closely with Matriarch's dedicated hormone health provider to support comprehensive care for women navigating perimenopause, menopause, and other hormonal transitions.
  • Recognize how hormonal changes may influence metabolic health, digestive symptoms, sleep, energy, mood, and overall well-being.
  • Identify concerns that warrant evaluation by the clinic's hormone specialist and coordinate referrals or shared care plans as appropriate.
  • Address the nutritional, metabolic, gastrointestinal, and lifestyle factors that may influence a patient's overall health during hormonal transitions.
  • Collaborate on individualized wellness plans that complement hormone-focused treatment.
  • Maintain clear communication across the clinical team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Patient Relationships & Collaborative Care

  • Create a welcoming, compassionate environment where women feel comfortable discussing their health concerns without feeling dismissed or rushed.
  • Dedicate meaningful time to understanding each patient's health history, symptoms, concerns, and personal goals.
  • Encourage shared decision-making and empower patients through education and individualized care.
  • Collaborate with hormone specialists, longevity coaches, mental health therapists, nutrition professionals, and other members of the Matriarch wellness team.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists when additional evaluation or treatment is indicated.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation.
  • Participate in developing clinical programs, patient education, and innovative wellness services as Matriarch Longevity continues to grow.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Tennessee license as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Appropriate national certification and prescriptive authority for the provider's professional designation and scope of practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in functional medicine, integrative medicine, primary care, internal medicine, gastroenterology, or a related specialty.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and laboratory interpretation skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of metabolic health, nutrition, digestive wellness, preventive medicine, and evidence-based treatment practices.
  • Knowledge of integrative and lifestyle-based approaches to health and wellness.
  • Ability to develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate medical care and appropriate nonpharmacologic interventions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Passion for continued learning and advancing the quality of women's healthcare.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced education, certification, or clinical training in functional medicine, integrative medicine, or lifestyle medicine.
  • Training through organizations such as the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), or other recognized educational programs.
  • Experience evaluating digestive disorders, nutritional deficiencies, and metabolic dysfunction.
  • Advanced understanding of gut health, microbiome research, nutrition, and the gut-brain connection.
  • Experience with metabolic health, medical weight management, and GLP-1 treatment programs.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based supplementation and appropriate use of complementary wellness therapies.
  • Understanding of women's health and the relationship between hormonal transitions and overall physical wellness.
  • Experience working in concierge medicine, integrative healthcare, or membership-based wellness practices.
  • Interest in collaborating with hormone specialists, health coaches, and other wellness professionals to support comprehensive, individualized care.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a provider who is genuinely curious about the human body and passionate about helping women feel better, live stronger, and age well.

Someone who doesn't stop investigating simply because a laboratory result falls within a reference range, but instead uses sound clinical judgment to understand the patient's symptoms, history, and overall health.

Someone who recognizes that fatigue, digestive concerns, brain fog, weight changes, and poor sleep can have multiple contributing factors and deserve a thoughtful, individualized evaluation.

Our ideal candidate believes medications can be valuable tools, but they are not always the first or only answer. They understand the powerful role that nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and healthy lifestyle choices can play in preventing and managing disease.

Most importantly, we want a provider who listens.

A provider who creates an environment where women feel safe asking questions, sharing concerns, and actively participating in decisions about their health.

This individual should be passionate about continued education, open to innovation, grounded in evidence-based medicine, and excited to help shape a different kind of healthcare experience for women.
