Job Title: Kids Zone Attendant at Bardmoor YMCA

Description: The Bardmoor YMCA in Largo, FL is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Kids Zone Attendant to care for pre-school and elementary school-age children while parents participate in YMCA programs. As a Kids Zone Attendant you will facilitate activities that will entertain children of different development levels in a caring atmosphere. You will work to meet the diverse needs of all participants while demonstrating a personal commitment to character development and the mission of the YMCA. You will provide positive feedback and encouragement to the children in our care in addition to providing excellent customer service to parents and members at all times.

Duties:

• Warmly and enthusiastically greets members with a smile and eye contact.
• Maintains a professional relationship with parents and the children entrusted to YMCA care.
• Requires all parents to sign in and sign out their child(ren).
• Keeps all work areas clean and organized.
• Maintains the equipment and games in the Kids Zone with emphasis on cleanliness, sanitation, safety and age appropriateness.
• Returns all equipment to its proper storage place after use.
• Cleans and dusts the climbing equipment on a weekly schedule.
• Conveys a positive attitude when interacting with members or in the presence of members.
• Works as a team member, assisting fellow staff when necessary.
• Provides members with opportunities that will increase their involvement, sense of belonging and sense of ownership of the YMCA.
• Builds relationships with all YMCA constituents by being responsible, honest, caring and respectful.
• Understand and promote all YMCA programs values.

Qualifications:

• Must be age 16 or older
• 1 year of experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or youth
• Pass a 10-panel urinalysis drug screen
• Clear a Level 2 background check*

Pay & Perks: Part-Time, $15.00/hour. Schedule includes mornings, evenings, and/or weekends. FREE YMCA membership for employee and discount for household family members. Free CPR and First Aid certification
