Position Summary
Red Baron Transportation is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Local CDL-A Driver to support our operations in New Castle, DE. This position is primarily yard-based and involves moving trailers between the yard and dock locations, as well as occasional short shuttle runs to customer sites to retrieve preloaded trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with all DOT and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Move trailers between the yard and warehouse docks to support daily operations.
- Perform short shuttle runs to customer locations as needed.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Utilize Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and other electronic systems as required.
- Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse teams, customers, and management.
- Ensure all trailers and equipment are handled safely and securely.
- Promptly report maintenance issues, safety concerns, accidents, or delays.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while representing Red Baron Transportation professionally.
- Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
- Minimum of three (3) years of Class A driving experience.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify vehicle maintenance concerns.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules and operational needs.

Compensation and Benefits:
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage after 90 days.
Time Off: Paid holidays and PTO available after 90 days.
PPE: Steel-toe boots required; additional PPE provided by BWT Logistics.

Schedule:
- Full-Time.
- Monday through Friday.
- 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
- Home Daily.
- Overtime opportunities available based on business needs.

- 2026 Freightliner.
- Dry Van and Container Equipment.
- No Touch Freight.
- Primarily Yard Operations with Limited Local Shuttle Runs.
