Manufacturing Data Analyst – Internship
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and analytical Manufacturing Data Analyst Intern to join our Dispensing Operations team.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Scheduler to support operational performance analysis, resource utilization monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
The role will focus on analyzing dispensing activities supporting sterile manufacturing processes, evaluating operational workloads, material flows and resource allocation, while contributing to the digitalization and optimization of existing planning and reporting tools.
This internship offers the opportunity to develop strong analytical skills and gain practical experience in manufacturing operations, capacity planning and data-driven process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing Performance & Workload Analysis
· Collect, organize and analyze operational data related to dispensing activities supporting different sterile manufacturing processes.
· Monitor preparation lead times, activity duration and workload distribution across manufacturing requirements.
· Support the development of performance indicators to evaluate departmental efficiency, operational trends and potential bottlenecks.
· Analyze historical data to identify opportunities for workload balancing and process optimization.
2. Resource Utilization & Capacity Analysis
· Support the Senior Scheduler in analyzing workforce allocation, Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) utilization and operational capacity.
· Evaluate the relationship between preparation volumes, processing times and resources required.
· Contribute to the analysis of space utilization, operational constraints and capacity limitations within dispensing areas.
· Develop analytical tools to improve workload visibility and support resource planning decisions.
· Identify potential opportunities to optimize resource allocation and operational scheduling.
3. Material Flow & Return Management Analysis
· Analyze material flows between the Dispensing department and manufacturing areas, including material returns and related handling activities.
· Monitor material return volumes, frequency, processing times and recurring operational issues.
· Support the identification of inefficiencies, unnecessary handling activities and opportunities for process simplification.
· Develop reports and KPIs to improve visibility and traceability of material movements.
· Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to support improvements in material flow coordination and operational efficiency.
4. Process Digitalization & Reporting Optimization
· Review existing Excel-based operational tracking, scheduling and reporting tools to identify manual activities, duplicated data entries and process inefficiencies.
· Support the simplification, standardization and digitalization of data collection and reporting workflows.
· Contribute to the development of automated reporting tools and dashboards using Excel, Power Query, Power BI or other available digital solutions.
· Support the integration and consolidation of information currently managed across multiple spreadsheets.
· Help improve data consistency, reporting reliability and accessibility of operational information.
5. Continuous Improvement & Operational Reporting
· Support continuous improvement initiatives through structured data analysis and process mapping.
· Develop dashboards and recurring reports to monitor key operational performance indicators.
· Identify trends, recurring issues and improvement opportunities based on operational data.
· Collaborate with the Senior Scheduler and departmental stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
· Contribute to the standardization of operational reporting and performance monitoring practices.
