Description
Dog Daycare Attendant - Part-Time | Opportunity to Become a Dog Trainer
Love dogs? Interested in becoming a professional dog trainer someday? Read this carefully.
Dog Gone Problems in Omaha is looking for a dependable, hardworking person to join our team as a part-time Dog Daycare Attendant, with the potential to grow into a Puppy Class Instructor and eventually a Professional Dog Trainer.
We offer a positive, supportive work environment where you'll work directly with dogs and learn about canine body language, behavior, and safe group management.
But here's what you need to understand: This is a starting position, not an immediate dog training job.
The Opportunity
We believe great dog trainers start by learning how to work with dogs, showing up consistently, taking direction, and proving they're someone we can count on.
You'll start by working in our dog daycare, learning our systems, caring for dogs, and demonstrating that you're an outstanding team member.
For employees who demonstrate exceptional reliability, work ethic, communication skills, and a genuine aptitude for working with dogs, we may offer advancement into our professional training programs.
We invest approximately $3,000 to train a Puppy Class Instructor and several thousand dollars more to develop a Professional Dog Trainer. We make those investments in employees who have earned our confidence.
Advancement is based on performance and business needs, not simply time on the job, and is not guaranteed.
We're Not Your Typical Dog Daycare
If you've worked at another dog daycare and felt frustrated by overcrowding, questionable treatment of dogs, or limited opportunities to advance, we'd love to talk with you.
We take a different approach. We limit our daycare rooms to a maximum of 12 dogs, and every dog goes through a comprehensive screening process conducted by Omaha's most experienced dog behavior expert. We teach our employees to understand canine body language and behavior, creating a positive, supportive environment for both dogs and employees.
We're also looking for people who want to grow professionally. You'll start in daycare, learn our methods, and demonstrate your reliability, work ethic, and ability to work with dogs. Those who earn our confidence may have the opportunity to advance into puppy class instruction and professional dog training-with substantial company-funded training.
While previous dog daycare experience is a plus, it is not required.
Hours and Pay
-
Part-time: 2–4 shifts per week
-
Approximately 6.5 hours per shift (13–26 hours weekly)
-
Additional hours may become available for the right person
-
Starting pay: Entry-level / minimum wage
-
On-site at our daycare facility: 13483 W Center Rd
Please do not apply if you require full-time hours or higher starting pay. We want to be upfront about the position so neither of us wastes time.
Who We're Looking For
-
Dependable people who show up on time and take their responsibilities seriously
-
Hard workers who are comfortable with learning about dogs, cleaning, physical activity, and hands-on animal care
-
People who take feedback well and are eager to learn
-
Team players with a positive attitude
-
Individuals interested in building a long-term career in dog training
-
Someone who understands that career opportunities are earned through consistent performance
You don't need to be an experienced dog trainer. You do need to be willing to start at the beginning, work hard, learn, and prove yourself.
Interested?
If you're looking for a part-time job working with dogs and are excited about the possibility of earning a future career in dog training, we'd love to hear from you.
