We are seeking a skilled and motivated Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for building robust data pipelines, optimizing data storage and processing, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role requires expertise in Azure data services, ETL/ELT processes, database technologies, and cloud-based data architectures.
Your role
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration solutions on Azure.
Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics. - Manage and enhance data lakes, data warehouses, and data storage solutions.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, data models, and database objects for performance and scalability. - Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Implement CI/CD practices and support deployment automation using Azure DevOps.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data platform and pipeline issues.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and operational procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of Azure data technologies.
About you
Technical Skills
Strong experience with:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Azure Databricks.
- Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
- Azure SQL Database and SQL Server.
- Microsoft Fabric (preferred).
- Advanced SQL development and performance tuning skills.
- Experience with Python, PySpark, or Scala for data processing.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Understanding cloud architecture and distributed data processing.
Data Management
- Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and data integration patterns.
- Knowledge of data quality, data governance, and metadata management.
- Familiarity with big data technologies and streaming solutions is advantageous.
Experience & Education
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in Data Engineering, Database Development, or Data Integration.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services.
Preferred
Microsoft certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
- Azure Database Administrator Associate
