The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in facilities that utilize Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), warehouse automation technologies, and integrated warehouse management platforms. This individual will serve as a key operational leader, troubleshooting system-related challenges, coordinating workflow across departments, and ensuring the seamless movement of materials throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Leadership

  • Lead and supervise night shift warehouse operations, ensuring daily productivity, quality, and service goals are achieved.
  • Direct the activities of warehouse associates, technicians, and support personnel in a high-volume distribution environment.
  • Manage receiving, storage, replenishment, order fulfillment, inventory control, and shipping activities.
  • Monitor workflow and labor allocation to maximize operational efficiency and throughput.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational and system-related issues during the shift.

Automation & Systems Management

  • Oversee operations within an automated warehouse environment utilizing ASRS technology.
  • Monitor and coordinate activities across multiple warehouse and automation platforms, including WMS, conveyor systems, sortation equipment, robotics, and material handling technologies.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, IT, and Operations teams to troubleshoot equipment and system interruptions.
  • Ensure automated systems are operating efficiently and support continuous flow throughout the warehouse.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation utilization, throughput, and operational performance.

Inventory & Process Control

  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through audits, cycle counts, and inventory control procedures.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with established warehouse processes, SOPs, and safety standards.
  • Monitor operational metrics and prepare shift performance reports.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Coach, mentor, and develop warehouse team members to achieve operational goals.
  • Conduct training, performance management, and employee development activities.
  • Promote a culture centered around safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements are consistently followed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse, distribution, fulfillment center, or logistics experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse operations within a highly automated environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience working with ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems).
  • Experience managing operations across multiple warehouse systems and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, shipping, receiving, and fulfillment processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting operational and system performance issues.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with automated fulfillment, e-commerce, retail distribution, manufacturing, or large-scale logistics operations.
  • Exposure to robotics, conveyor systems, sortation systems, and other material handling automation technologies.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience preferred.

Ideal Candidate Background
