Description
As a Shipment Scheduler, you will be responsible for managing the available vehicle fleet and fulfilling transportation capacity requirements by sourcing carriers and establishing agreements with various business partners, ensuring the efficient and successful execution of the supply chain.
This position reports directly to the Transportation Manager
Key Responsibilities
Validate vehicle availability and develop strategies to meet daily transportation requirements, achieving positioning and volume distribution targets.
Prepare the daily unit assignment schedule (local deliveries, FC, FL, transfers, plants, and operations) based on established procedures and available fleet capacity.
Perform statistical analysis of transportation costs, rates, and rental transportation service providers.
Confirm loading appointments with transportation carriers, analyzing positioning priorities and cost-per-liter efficiency.
Record daily operational information, including logs, attendance, incidents, accessorial validations, and daily service-level performance tracking.
Actively participate in Operational Excellence (OE) initiatives, EHS incident investigations and follow-up activities, and ensure compliance with internal policies, including EHS and Compliance standards.
Respond to internal and external requests for quotations for dedicated or extraordinary transportation services, providing timely solutions and executing approved requests.
Manage the national vehicle fleet and develop transportation providers aligned with business growth and sales demand.
Coordinate onboarding and training processes for new transportation service providers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in transportation, logistics, fleet management, or supply chain operations.
Basic English skills (written and verbal).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is preferred.
