🔍 The role

As Transportation Manager, you will own end-to-end transportation performance for your market, from collections at Bigblue warehouses to delivery to final customers.

You will report directly to Robin, Head of Transportation, and work closely with the B2B Operations Lead, Finance, Merchant teams, local Sales teams and Product. You will also have visibility with the founders on strategic transportation topics.

Your mission will be to manage and improve the carrier portfolio, scale Bigblue’s transportation offer in your market, and turn operational data into concrete performance improvements. This includes B2C, B2B, out-of-home delivery, customs management, inbound flows and new service launches.

Success will be measured through:

• Cost performance: cost per shipment, with a target of 5% year-over-year decrease while taking shipment mix changes into account.
• Quality: happy orders, leftovers, on-time performance and return rate.
• Customer experience: buyer experience, launch of new services and reduced friction at checkout / point of sale.

 

📋 What you’ll do

• Own end-to-end transportation processes for your market, from warehouse collections to final customer delivery.
• Animate and challenge the carrier portfolio through performance reviews, operational readiness and continuous improvement plans.
• Lead transportation performance monitoring with the Data Analyst, using KPIs to identify issues, prioritize actions and measure impact.
• Drive cost improvement initiatives while accounting for market dynamics, inflation and changes in shipment mix.
• Support the Head of Transportation on capacity planning, market research and sourcing of new carriers.
• Scale Bigblue’s transportation offer in your market across B2C, B2B, out-of-home delivery, customs management, inbound and other strategic services.
• Partner with Customer Care, Warehouse, Merchant, Sales and Product teams to solve operational issues and launch new services.
• Contribute to peak season preparation and carrier contract renegotiations when relevant.

First 30 days

• Become autonomous on day-to-day transportation operations.
• Take ownership of operational follow-up and key metrics.
• Start handling escalation calls with internal teams and carriers.
• Build relationships with carriers and key internal stakeholders.

First 90 days

• Deliver a clear market overview for the assigned scope.
• Identify strengths and weaknesses of Bigblue’s transportation offer in the market.
• Build a 6-month strategic plan with prioritized actions.
• Translate KPI analysis into concrete operational improvements.

 

👤 Who you are

Must-have

• At least 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, operations or project management.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to run advanced Excel analyses and interpret operational KPIs.
• Able to turn performance data into practical operational actions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Confident enough to challenge carriers and negotiate without being pushed around.
• Highly autonomous, structured and able to prioritize multiple topics in parallel.
• Customer-centric mindset and strong judgment on what creates a good delivery experience.

Nice-to-have

• Experience in a fast-paced scale-up or high-growth environment.
• Experience working with BI tools such as Metabase or Power BI.
• Experience launching or improving transportation services across several markets.
• Master’s degree or higher in Business, Management, Transportation, Supply Chain or another relevant field.
